I want to make your best day even better. You’ll spend months planning every tiny detail, making sure everything is perfect. Once your wedding day is over, your images will be the only tangible reminder of these things both big and small. Choosing the right photographer for your day is just as important as finding the perfect gown. That person is someone whose work you adore and whose personality ensures you will have a fun, relaxed day. Someone in whom you have complete trust that your day will be documented as perfectly as it was planned.
Warm, emotional, timeless imagery for you to enjoy and pass down for generations.
That’s a long answer! But the short answer: 7 years. I’ve worked in the industry since my senior year of high school (over 20 years ago…good grief). My boss at the time owned a small mom and pop photography studio and print lab. I continued to work there as I got married and and started a family. When our kids got old enough to both be in school, I knew I wanted more. I took a year and completely immersed myself in learning more, shooting more, BEING MORE. I honed my skills and signature look and style until I was ready to start my business in the middle of 2009. It’s been tulle and cake ever since!
Each wedding is unique in terms of how the day unfolds. That’s why I invest a lot of time constructing the perfect timeline for your day. Having a timeline ensures you will be able to relax and enjoy the day to it’s fullest without worrying about where to be and when. Of course, my first priority is to be present in the moments as they unfold, but I also feel it’s my job to take care of keeping everyone on track: kind of like the captain of a well oiled ship. There are many things to consider in your timeline: Do you want a first look? What if it rains? Can we go to a second location for creative images? Together, we will discuss all possibilities and options months before the wedding so when the day finally comes, we are completely on the same page with a seamless plan. I get a lot of brides who joke that I should have also been their wedding coordinator!
It’s become a trend in the recent years for couples to opt for a “first look.” And it’s just that. Seeing each other before walking down the aisle. A lot of couples prefer a first look for many reasons. The day begins with the two of you together, in a private setting, seeing each other for the first time. You are are free to feel all the emotions of the moment without anyone watching. It’s a beautiful thing…I did it at my own wedding. It also allows all of the photographs to be taken pre-wedding when your hair and makeup are fresh and your flowers haven’t had a chance to wilt or be crushed by hugging your guests. There is a natural flow that happens once the ceremony has ended as well. You have the recessional, thank your guests for coming, and everyone is in celebratory mode. With a first look, we can continue that feeling by proceeding onto the reception without much of a pause for additional photographs. If you don’t want a first look-that’s great too! A lot of grooms especially like the idea of seeing their bride for the first time as she walks down the aisle. If that’s the moment you envision for your day, then that is what I want for you! I feel it’s my job to simply inform you of the positives of each option and allow you to choose what YOU want for your wedding day. If a first look isn’t for you, we will just need to be sure we discuss the amount of time needed between ceremony and reception to get all the photographs you are expecting.
For weddings, the number of images can vary depending on your timeline, details and events of the day. For that reason, I never limit the number of photographs but I typically deliver a minimum of 600 images. For engagements, a minimum of 75 images. All digital collections are high-resolution, edited images and come with a password protected online gallery for immediate download and a print release. Wedding collections will also include a keepsake USB drive.
Absolutely!!!! I’ve had the privilege of photographing weddings in Florida, California, Puerto Rico and in 2016 I’ll be traveling to Georgia for another beach wedding! I love to travel and think destination weddings are one of the most fabulous wedding experiences you can enjoy! Destination weddings often involve pre and post wedding events that make it feel like a wedding weekend instead of a wedding day! If you’re interested in destination coverage, contact me for more information.
FABULOUS! The next step is to contact me so I can check my availability. Once we select the best package for you, a signed contract and $500 retainer is required to book and reserve your wedding date. The retainer does apply towards the package of your choosing.
