She’s a happy girl. That’s how her mother describes Lila. If you know mom Morgan, then you will also know that it could be said “like mother, like daughter.” Morgan is a dear friend and I have cherished the time that I’ve been able to spend with both of her children over the last year. It has truly been a family affair :)
We again chose Grandma Mitchel’s house as the location for Lila’s one year session. The last time we were there, Lila was 6 months old and not even sitting up yet. This time, we tried so hard to schedule carefully around naptimes and the family dinner that was planned…only to have it start raining again literally the minute we stepped out the door! Yep, that’s the kind of Spring it was around here…we all know it. We decided to shoot indoors and wait out the storm as we were certain the rain would pass….
…but not before I put in a special order with Mother Nature for this to appear ;)
Lila didn’t care about the wet grass, or the mud, or the cold water from the pond in the back yard. She just wanted to RUN!
And run she did, through the puddles and giggling like she had just broken free from Mom’s arms!
Miss Lila, how I adore your wrinkled up nose and your pretty blue eyes. Hoping to get some days by the pond with you and your Mommy this summer ;) Happy Birthday, big girl!
Love those little teeth :) Brock stole my heart just over a year ago. I still remember his Grandma calling me from the hospital to schedule his newborn session and he wasn’t even born yet! I think my favorite memory of meeting Brock for the first time, just a week after that phone call, was watching his dad Chad hold him…and the look on his face. I think I even talked about it then…the moment has stuck with me :)
Brock’s big brown eyes make me melt…and make me laugh when they’re full of mischief. He’s going to be a lot of fun this summer running all over the place while mom and dad try and keep him out of everything…and I mean everything! He had a fascination with a barrel filled with water during this session at Grandma’s house and had his mom Mandy not been holding his foot, Brock would have fallen in head first!
Had to get a few in Grandma W’s school bus!
Brock, you sure are a sweetie! So glad your mom and dad allowed me the chance to watch you grow over the last year :)
A few months later and JD is all over the place ;) The last time I visited him for a family session, he was just sitting up and soon grew tired enough to fall asleep on mom’s shoulder. THIS time, he was hard to keep contained! Like most little boys, JD sees his home as a giant jungle gym where something as simple as a leather sofa turns into a trampoline to vault himself from! I was nervous more than once as I envisioned him rolling off onto the tile….better not to think about it!
Ugh, that dimpled chin just makes me smile :) JD, wishing you another year filled with more fun than bumps and bruises!
