Such a sweet edition to this perfect family, meet Amos. If you follow the blog, you may remember watching his big brother Levi grow from an infant to one year old not that long ago! Amos made his arrival in March and a few days later, I made my arrival to0 to photograph the little man and new family of five :) I always love my visits with Julie, Jon + crew. Mom and dad are always so relaxed and make me feel right at home. Big sis Esther didn’t want me to take too many pictures for fear that we would miss out on play time with her ;) I did manage to read a book or two to she and Levi while Amos took a little break..doing so I realized I need to work on my “character voices.” I’m kind of out of practice!
Amos is such a beautiful baby. Bright eyes and so alert….Julie told me that his blonde hair is a little hard to get used to since both Esther and Levi were born with full heads of dark hair!
Levi has taken his role of big brother very seriously. Julie joked that he’s a little too helpful at times ;) He wanted to be sure Amos had his hat on just right!
Oh my, what a character! Love these of all five of them!
Julie and Jon, thanks as always for letting me be a part of your lives in this way. I am always overwhelmed by the love within your home….it’s almost tangible! So happy for all of you-what a blessing Amos is!
The wait is ALMOST over!!!!! I had a text from my brother just after midnight (which I missed!) that Betsy was being admitted to the hospital. A few updates from Chris this morning says that Izzy is just about to make her arrival….It’s killing me!!!! I am rearranging schedules like crazy to head down to Muncie and meet my little niece as soon as I get the OK from her mom and dad :)
So, at this moment, I’m sitting by my phone and waiting. And I’m anxious. The phone has rang a few times and I run to it…but no news yet. So I figured I NEED to blog their maternity session that I shot just a few weeks ago. Because in a few days, I’ll be posting Izzy’s newborn session!!!!!!
And as I sit here and think about that (still waiting), all I can wrap my head around is that my baby brother and his beautiful wife are about to become parents for the first time :) I wish I could be a fly on the wall right now and experience the joy of the moment Izzy takes her first breath. I wish I could see the look on my brother’s face when he meets his daughter today…
Yes, we’re all still waiting on Izzy…but not for long now :)
Today, our family celebrates another birthday of a very special man. Grandpa Beitler (Tim’s maternal grandfather) turns 94 years young…and I do mean young. At 94 , he continues to amaze us all with his active lifestyle and insanely accurate memory for the most minute details of the last almost-century. We celebrated over the weekend and while the sweet cake was made for Grandpa, it was the rest of us that were treated with his stories of days and years past.
As we lost Grandma this summer and gathered for her funeral over the July 4th holiday, I am thankful that we were, as a family, able to spend so much time together. We all feel so blessed to have had such a wonderful example of a long, happy and faithful marriage.
And for our children to know your love as well…
We live for your stories. Stories of your youth. And of war. The stories seem more frequent lately and we all literally sit at your feet and soak up every detail…and we marvel at your memory of time and place.
Tim and I feel blessed to live near you and see you so often. You come to ball games and sit in the heat. And you take stats on tball and softball like it was a high school game. I wonder if you will ever know how much these little moments mean to us…and to Evie and Trenton.
Happy 94th Grandpa….blow out your candles!
