Kylee and Luke will be married in just a few short days from now….I seriously cannot believe it! I have known Luke as long as I’ve known my husband. His parents are close friends of my in-laws and I have spent more time than imaginable with all of them. Luke was always a cute kid and how is a handsome man and father…and soon husband will be added to that list. He has found his match in the beautiful Kylee and I know their wedding will be nothing short of perfect!
Their engagement session was scheduled amidst the crazy rain of late Spring and to top it off, it was also the morning after they had moved into their new home. Did I mention Kylee just got a new job and they have a son? Yes, these two have been crazy busy the last few months but you wouldn’t have known it with how relaxed they were from the first click of the shutter. I adore how affectionate they are with one another and how easy they are to laugh. That combination always makes for a great session :)
Kylee has great legs…and eyes. Oh, and a fantastic smile. And if you’re wondering, yes. Their son is GORGEOUS too!!!
This was about the time that I drove Kylee and Luke out to the middle of nowhere…ok, so it was technically only a mile or two from my house ;) They rolled up their jeans and squished through the muddy field without complaining just for the sake of these yellow weeds…SO worth it!
Kylee and Luke, I am so honored that you asked me to photograph your wedding…and even if you hadn’t, I wouldn’t have missed it for the world!!!! Can’t wait to see you both on Saturday!!!!!!!
I met with Shannon and Jordan to discuss their coming wedding. New Years Eve. They were in the beginning stages of planning and their ideas were just beginning to take shape. They sat across from me and were somewhere between excited and overwhelmed…if you’ve ever planned a wedding you know exactly what that feels like ;) They knew for certain of only a few things then. New Years Eve would be the date. But before that, they were looking forward to their engagement photos!
When we talked about their engagement session, both Shannon and Jordan jumped back to the excited end of the spectrum. I knew they had already put some thought into what they wanted for their images..something that told of their growing up in a rural area, some images at Shannon’s home where the lake greets them at their back door. A reflection of what their lives have been up to now.
Shannon and Jordan, I am looking forward to documenting the start to the next phase of your lives. I can’t think of a more perfect date than New Years Eve!
I can’t remember how long ago it was when I first met Kelly, but I DO remember that I loved her instantly. She was easy to talk with and she didn’t mind being around my screaming baby! Thanks to facebook, I have kept in contact with her live via status updates and was thrilled beyond belief to learn she had gotten engaged. Then I prayed she would call me to photograph the wedding ;)
Here we are a few months later, looking forward to their September wedding. I didn’t get a chance to meet Aaron until the morning of their engagement session…all Kelly had told me is he’s a military man…and you will LOVE him. She was right! Aaron was just as excited for their session as Kelly was (and he told me so many times)! And what I love most about Aaron, honestly, is the way he loves Kelly. Every woman would consider herself lucky to be cherished the way Kelly is by Aaron. And anyone who knows Kelly can plainly see she feels exactly the same way about him.
My favorite part of the day was when Kelly told me the story of how she and Aaron met…and how he proposed. Kelly works in a dental office and one day, Aaron walked in to the office for a visit. To say he was smitten would be an understatement ;) He kept asking her out, and Kelly would politely decline. Eventually, she caved and they’ve been together ever since. On the day Aaron asked Kelly to become his wife, he surprised Kelly by returning to the office where they met…and whisked her off her feet to a whirlwind celebratory weekend in Chicago! Aaron, you should probably know you’re making all the girls swoon and simultaneously raising the bar for all the other boyfriends out there!
My favorite of the day below :)
Our last stop for the day was a stop at the Air Force base where Aaron works.
Kelly and Aaron, I am absolutely honored and thrilled to be a part of your wedding! To say I’m looking forward to our next adventure would be an understatement!!!!
