I’m spending this chilly Friday packing my bags for another fabulous wedding on tap for tomorrow! Brooke feels like family, well, technically she is in the cousin of a cousin kind of way ;) There is always an added note of fun to be asked to shoot the wedding of someone I’ve known for so long. I was thrilled from the first official meeting with Brooke and her mom, although I had a pretty good idea of what Brooke’s wedding would look like just by knowing her. I have no doubt that everything has been planned to the “T” and the only thing we’ll have to deal with is this darn COLD weather…I mean, really, this winter needs to MOVE ON! Brooke and Marcus are such a sweet couple and I can’t wait to spend tomorrow with them!
We took their engagement pictures around Van Wert on one of the hottest days of last summer. We were so glad to have a beautiful indoor location to escape the humidity for a while!
I have rarely ever seen Brooke NOT smile…but oh my, that expression is smokin’!
I didn’t hate the fact that I had to wade in the pond for a bit for these images…I’m serious, it was smoldering out and the water felt GOOOOD!
See you tomorrow guys…don’t forget your winter coats ;)
Tomorrow is the day Megan and Joel have been waiting for…and also my first wedding in the states of 2013! Although we will be dodging water puddles and skipping the more-than-soggy grass, the day will be perfect because it’s about the two of them. We shot their engagements early last fall and incorporated so many things that have meaning to them, including the Harley Davidson jacket that was part of Joel’s proposal and shooting at Joel’s parents farm :) These two are flawless together and I’m SO warming up my dancing shoes as we speak for the party to follow tomorrow night!
We had to include a few pictures of Hazel!
Ok, Joel…really?!!! Such a stud! ;)
Don’t these two have THE best smiles?! :D
It’s official..I adore the two of you…See you in the morning!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow is the day they’ve waited for…and planned for for months. I’m certain they didn’t plan on the HEAT that will accompany their outdoor wedding…but I doubt they will mind too much. Tomorrow is the day they finally become husband and wife.
When I asked where they wanted to have their engagement session, Mandy and Jason both quickly agreed on Indianapolis. A city they no longer live in but is still very dear to them :) We met in THE most random location last September and between wardrobe malfunctions that included wrinkles and a few random spots (origin unknown!), a trip to the drug store, rain and I’m sure many other things that have slipped my mind, we still managed to get the images they hoped for. Mandy and Jason are such an easy, relaxed couple and dealing with the few minor bumps in the road that day proved it. NO WORRIES….and the best part? Our insanely random meeting place yielded the coolest accidental location find in history…see wall above :)
After our accidental location #1, I let Jason lead the way to the places he and Mandy had chosen for the rest of the session. He drove us to the canal, a place I hear is very popular for photographs but I had never been before! Such a beautiful area and the overcast skies made shooting there so easy :)
Loved all the green accents we found that day as Mandy kept saying how along with her purple dress, was going to match the wedding colors :)
Yes, this umbrella makes random appearances sometimes during my shoots. No, it’s not a prop. It only comes out when we NEED it! Mandy so badly wanted to shoot at a park downtown to incorporate some more colorful backdrops. Unfortunately, the rain beat us there :( We managed to snag a few minus the umbrella as the session wrapped up with just a little drizzle to contend with!
A grassy field was also on Mandy’s “wish-list” for engagement looks….well, we weren’t going to find any where we were downtown, especially as the rain was getting worse. But WAIT! We spotted a TINY patch of weeds..with the skyline behind. Perfecto!!!
Mandy and Jason, everything went our way the last time we met…even when it looked like it wouldn’t. I’m not gonna lie. The heat tomorrow will be a bit much…but I have no worries that everything will be flawless. There will be no rain on your wedding day. Any minor wardrobe malfunctions will not require wrinkle releaser. It will be all that you had hoped for and more :) See you tomorrow…and make sure you remember the sunscreen ;)
