A + S

:)

When I first met with Autumn and Shaun to discuss their wedding, I distinctly remember Autumn sitting across from me and saying that the photographs were the most important thing to her and she was planning everything around them.

She had me at Hello.

They were married last fall at the Fort Wayne History Center downtown.  The weather was perfectly crisp and the day couldn’t have gone any smoother.  The ceremony was small and intimate and perfectly suited for Autumn and Shaun.  True to her word, Autumn didn’t even bat an eye when I suggested photographs in the basement (better known as the dungeon) which housed the first jail in the city over 100 years ago.  I love that my couples are literally game for whatever I may throw their way:)

undefined Autumn and Shaun, it was an absolute pleasure sharing this day with you!  I hope it was everything you had hoped it would be..and more.

Engagements > June 10, 2011

I can’t remember how long ago it was when I first met Kelly, but I DO remember that I loved her instantly.  She was easy to talk with and she didn’t mind being around my screaming baby!  Thanks to facebook, I have kept in contact with her live via status updates and was thrilled beyond belief to learn she had gotten engaged.  Then I prayed she would call me to photograph the wedding ;)

Here we are a few months later, looking forward to their September wedding.  I didn’t get a chance to meet Aaron until the morning of their engagement session…all Kelly had told me is he’s a military man…and you will LOVE him.  She was right!  Aaron was just as excited for their session as Kelly was (and he told me so many times)!  And what I love most about Aaron, honestly, is the way he loves Kelly.  Every woman would consider herself lucky to be cherished the way Kelly is by Aaron.  And anyone who knows Kelly can plainly see she feels exactly the same way about him.

undefined My favorite part of the day was when Kelly told me the story of how she and Aaron met…and how he proposed.  Kelly works in a dental office and one day, Aaron walked in to the office for a visit.  To say he was smitten would be an understatement ;)  He kept asking her out, and Kelly would politely decline.  Eventually, she caved and they’ve been together ever since.  On the day Aaron asked Kelly to become his wife, he surprised Kelly by returning to the office where they met…and whisked her off her feet to a whirlwind celebratory weekend in Chicago!  Aaron, you should probably know you’re making all the girls swoon and simultaneously raising the bar for all the other boyfriends out there!

Our last stop for the day was a stop at the Air Force base where Aaron works.

undefined Kelly and Aaron, I am absolutely honored and thrilled to be a part of your wedding!  To say I’m looking forward to our next adventure would be an understatement!!!!

janelle class of 2011
Portraits > June 6, 2011

undefined Janelle was my last senior for this year, shot just a couple of months ago before we were hit with the non-stop rain.  It was oh so chilly, but after the monsoon that was April/May I am just glad we got it done!

Janelle and I quickly became sparring partners…one jab for another.  She’s the queen of one-liners and had me struggling to keep up ;)  “I’m not sure I like you, ” she would joke.  I would tell her how great she looked and she rolled her eyes at me!  We went on like this for hours and I couldn’t stop laughing at almost everything she said!  I threatened to tag along with her to Hawaii where she will begin nursing school this fall.  She tried to hide her smile…and threw me another jab about Hawaii not being big enough for the both of us.

undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined A few days after Janelle viewed her images, she sent me another email:  “I’m still not sure I like you, but I kinda love my pictures!”  Maybe I can visit her in Hawaii afterall :)

After this weekend, I believe all of my 2011 seniors have officially graduated!  Congrats to all and wishing you the best of luck as you do great and wonderful things with your lives!
