introducing olivia laine
Portraits, Children > January 23, 2012

I think I first heard Mollie and Kevin were expecting through a mutual friend.  And I was all “WHAT?!”  Which promptly led me to post  an official Facebook congratulations on Mollie’s wall.  It was only a year and a half ago that I photographed Mollie and Kevin’s beautiful wedding…and just before Christmas this year I got to photograph their brand new baby girl, Olivia.

I knew Mollie would have lots of bows and pink things and I was excited to get my little girl fix.  I am all about pink these days myself as my brother and his wife are expecting their first, a little girl (and my first niece), later this Spring.  Unfortunately, I had a little bit of a cold the day I met Olivia and tried to keep my distance…and I was really in the mood for some snuggles!

Such a sweetie….Mollie kept trying to talk Olivia into showing a dimple and I was glad she delivered ;)

If you remember anything about Kevin and Mollie from my past posts of them, it’s how much I love how they love each other…it’s almost tangible.  It was such a joy for me to watch them both marvel over their little girl :)

And don’t forget big sis, Kaylee!  You can tell she is going to be quite the protector and is already a big help with Olivia.  She’s also good company while Olivia took a break to eat…I can’t tell you how many knock knock jokes she told me that day!

Oh, Kevin…another girl in your world to kiss and love on :)

It still amazes me sometimes that people invite me to be a part of the most important moments in their lives.  I really do feel blessed.  Mollie and Kevin, I am so happy for you both with the newest addition to your family.  She is a special little girl to be loved by so many :)

And for you, Kaylee…orange you glad I didn’t say banana ;)

Seniors > January 23, 2012

I cannot believe how far behind I am in blogging…as in…it’s pitiful.  I guess I should just be thankful I’ve been busy enough that I didn’t have time….but I’m just embarrassed!!!!!  So many great clients, sessions and weddings to share with you over the next couple of months…so Let’s Get Started!

Holly was my first senior for the class of 2012.  I shot her sister’s senior pictures a couple of years ago at her home in Huntington so Holly came this way to incorporate a completely different look.  I was thrilled that she agreed to a very early  morning session, especially considering they had a decent drive to get here….but wouldn’t you know it..the day was overcast, gloomy, COLD and drizzly.  I felt terrible dragging Holly out in all of her warm summer outfits but she was a complete trooper under all those shivers and goosebumps, never once complaining.  Heck, I was covered from head to toe in layers and even I was cold!

Holly was so completely comfortable in front of the camera that it allowed us to work rather quickly to try and keep her warm.  She’s a natural for sure!

One good thing about drizzly, stormy days…the wind it provides ;)

Holly, thank you so much for enduring the crazy early Summer weather… Hope your senior year is going well…you’re over half way to the finish line!!

Oh, blog…how I’ve missed you!  There is so much to catch you up on that it feels a bit overwhelming!  I’ve been blessed with another year of fabulous clients and I can’t wait to show them off  to you!  Hopefully as our weather turns cold,  we can all enjoy looking back at images with green grass and bright blue skies and pray that Spring comes quickly.

First up is Miss Anniston who turned one this summer!  We met on an evening that summer storms were threatening but luckily held off for us!  Grandma and Grandpa Blomenberg’s house in the woods was the perfect backdrop for this active little doll.  And as you can see by the first image, Anniston was running all around and we all did our best to keep up :)

This first outfit was one that was worn by Anniston’s paternal Grandma when she was a baby in 1954!  The material was so dainty and sheer :)

One of my ABSOLUTE favorite things about shooting this age is watching their legs try to keep up with themselves!  Their run has a teeter totter look that  makes them look  like they will fall down at every step!  And the arms, if not for balance they could be used for windmills ;)

Baby jelly shoes…Anniston is so stylish!

So glad we chanced the weather for this shoot, it was well worth the mosquito bites we endured ;)  Jill and Zach, thank you for allowing me to document the first year of Anniston’s life.  She is absolutely precious :)
