Warm fall images…my favorite. We snuck this session in at the tail end of last year just as the evenings were turning colder. Kelsey is a girl who is most comfortable in jeans and a hoodie. I have a feeling she doesn’t realize how beautiful she is. She is a kind-hearted and compassionate girl who gives out hugs as often as smiles.
I wanted to be sure that the locations we chose reflected the person that Kelsey is. We didn’t have to go far…less than one half mile down the road to her grandfather’s home. As we walked, Kelsey and her mom would tell me stories about things we came across. Stories of growing up on a farm with barns and horses…and boats ;) So much better than any random location I could have found.
Miss Kelsey, you are such a sweetie and I’ve loved watching you grow into the beautiful woman you are today. I pray the Lord will guide your direction as you begin a new chapter :)
I almost can’t believe I’m posting this session…because I thought it was NEVER going to happen! With all the annoying rain, day after day, Jamie and I have been playing phone tag and rescheduling. I think the magic day came on the fourth try! Now the hard part was finding dry ground to work with!
I seriously love these two :) They were so relaxed from the first shot. I think I laughed from start to finish…as did Jamie..cracking jokes along the way! She made a comment something like, “Now I know why everyone is laughing in your pictures.” She obviously thinks I’m funnier than my husband does ;)
SPRING!!! Who knew it was actually hiding behind all those rain clouds.
That brings us to the next location…and the story that goes with it. I had this great little barn I wanted to go to which was settled at the top of a hill and surrounded by farm ground. The lane up to the barn was a narrow path of tall grass. I pulled in and debated driving all the way up. Yes, I know it’s been very wet, which is why I hesitated. I asked Kyle what he thought. He simply said, “You have four wheel drive.” Which I took for DO IT! Not smart. Not at all. It became very interesting from there…I’ll leave it to your imagination ;) Regardless of the trouble, the images were so worth it!
Jamie and Kyle, this is one session I will NEVER forget! Looking forward to your wedding in July!
And just for the record, Kyle I don’t blame you for the four wheel drive comment and for getting stuck…but I would have if it meant calling my husband to pull us out ;)
This was one of those sessions that just surprised me. I had never met Zach before and had only spoken with his mother over the phone when we were discussing times and dates. I remember she told me Zach was really quiet. Not a probelm. I can talk enough for both of us! When I met Zach in Fort Wayne one very early and COLD morning, he came solo and I thought I’m going to have to talk A LOT! Again, never a problem for me ;)
We didn’t have any particular locations chosen in advance and we just took it all as it came. What surprised me was how one quiet high school kid who more than likely wasn’t thrilled to be the subject of attention, and one photographer with a tendency to jabber, translated into one of my favorite sessions of this senior season!
Zach, you were a trooper through the cold morning and I can’t thank you enough for being willing to try anything :)
